tbh i think kaeya's "choice" mentioned in mona's voiceline for him isn't picking between mond and Khaenriah but rather whether he wants to follow the path set for him by fate (or by that "inept god" one could say) or not
you ever make a post and then realise you put the whole damn post in the tags?
anyway i feel like kaeya’s skin shows kaeya reaching some sort of balance between both? especially with his vision no longer missing wings and also having stars on it as well: he doesn’t feel like he’s not completely a citizen of mondsdadt anymore
and the hangout has like 2 endings focused on his identity as mondsdadt er-> one with venti also dealing with his origins indirectly, and one with klee dealing with the family issues stating very clearly that kaeya’s loved and has a lot of family that care for him.
and ofcourse one hangout talking about fate,,, which gave me the thought anyway.
I dont think kaeya’s still completely and unshakably confident in his identity BUT he’s definitely made progress since when we first met him and how he was in jean’s story quest imo
